Privacy Policy

Privacy conscious classroom participation.

Effective July 31, 2026.

Privacy Policy

Designed around data minimization and school directed educational use.

1. Scope

This policy applies to the Harrison's Heroes educator platform, classroom tools, assessments, support forms, and protected curriculum resources. The separate immersive experience has its own privacy notice for anonymous technical usage.

2. Educator information

Educator registration may collect name, educator email, school or organization, location, grade levels, estimated student count, available devices, intended use date, password credentials, and agreement records.

3. Student information

Students do not create accounts and are not asked for names, personal email addresses, birth dates, home addresses, or phone numbers. Students use a temporary classroom code and a teacher assigned identifier. The teacher keeps any private list connecting that identifier to a student.

The platform may store the identifier, classroom, grade pathway, pre and post assessment responses and scores, access mode, completion status, and optional reflection. A name entered to print a certificate stays in the browser and is not sent to Harrison's Heroes.

4. Purpose and use

Information is used to provide educator accounts, verify schools, deliver protected curriculum, create classrooms, measure learning, generate classroom reports, provide support, secure the service, and publish verified aggregate impact. Information is not sold or used for targeted advertising.

5. School directed use

Schools and districts should review this service before student use. Where applicable, a school may authorize educational technology use for students, but Harrison's Heroes does not shift its own legal responsibilities to schools. The program is intended for school directed educational use and no unrelated commercial purpose.

6. Sharing and service providers

Cloudflare provides hosting, security, and database infrastructure. An email delivery provider may be added if configured. Service providers may process information only to operate the service. Harrison's Heroes may disclose information when required by law or to protect security and safety.

7. Retention

Educator accounts remain until deletion or administrative closure. Classroom and pseudonymous student data are scheduled for deletion 24 months after the last classroom activity unless a school requests earlier deletion or a longer period is required for an active program relationship. Support requests are retained up to 24 months. Security and login records are retained up to 90 days.

8. Access, correction, and deletion

Educators can review their classrooms and export results. Educators or authorized school representatives may request account, classroom, or student session deletion through support. Requests will be verified before action.

9. Security

The platform uses encrypted HTTPS connections, password hashing, secure session cookies, access controls, prepared database statements, and role based authorization. No system can guarantee absolute security.

10. Children and families

Student participation is designed for school directed use. Families should contact the school about classroom use and may also contact Harrison's Heroes through the support page.

11. Changes

Material changes will be posted with a new effective date. Schools should review updates before continued use.

12. Contact

Use the support form for privacy questions, review, correction, or deletion requests.
